Do you believe what you read?

....from normal newspapers: they are so pro government that they can't find something bad about the government to write.

...from the website malaysiakini.com: this website is so anti government that they can't find something good about the government to write.

I give credit where its due, the present government is flawed and might be on the way out after the next general election but I can still find something good about the government to write. The present government has laid down the foundations of our beloved country and we as normal citizens should be grateful for what we have now. However the normal media is so restricted that they can only portray the government on a positive light i.e. all's fine and rosy.

On the other side, the electronic media in particular malaysiakini(where the so called "truth" can be obtained) is hogging all the limelight because it's controversial editor is jailed. I am not at all convinced at the overzealous approach the website is using to get their information across to readers. The writers on that website usually criticize for the sake of criticizing, giving little or no credit to the government. They are acting as if they are holier than thou, the moral guardians of our society.

So what can we believe in? I follow this simple rule, the truth needs no further explanation whereas a lie will have dozens of explanations justifying it.
